Sustainability at 3D Studio

A remote studio that lets architects and developers test design choices on screen before anything is built.

  • Clients in 17 countries since 2013, without travel to meetings
  • Digital images instead of physical models and printed boards
  • Renewable electricity and no company cars

Remote by design

Since 2013 we have worked for clients in 17 countries without travelling to meetings or site visits. Drawings, comments and files move by upload and email.

Digital, not physical

Renders, 3D floor plans, animations and virtual tours can replace physical scale models, printed sample boards and reprints. One 3D model produces every image, so a change is made once, on screen.

Better choices, earlier

Clients compare materials, planting, massing and window options on screen before they commit, so greener options can be tested before anything is built.

Office and equipment

How the studio runs day to day

Small, practical choices about energy, hardware and travel.

Renewable electricity

The studio's electricity comes from a renewable electricity contract.

Cloud rendering

Heavy rendering runs on shared cloud capacity when a project needs it, instead of extra machines that would stand idle between projects.

Computers kept for years

Workstations stay in use for years and are not replaced on a fixed schedule.

No company cars

The studio has no company cars. Work does not depend on anyone driving to a meeting.

Our commitments

Our commitments

Commitments we keep and review every year.

Online meetings by default

Client meetings take place online unless a client asks to meet in person.

Digital delivery

Files are delivered digitally. We do not print proofs unless a client asks for them.

A yearly review

We review this page once a year and report what changed. Last reviewed: October 2026.

Questions

Questions about sustainability

If yours is not here, ask it directly through the quote form.

Ask us directly
Is 3D Studio carbon neutral?
No, and we do not claim to be. We do not buy offsets. We keep our own footprint small: remote work with no client travel, digital delivery, renewable electricity, cloud rendering and no company cars.
Can renders replace a physical scale model?
For most planning, marketing and sales uses, yes. Exterior and interior renders, aerial views, 3D floor plans, animations and 360 virtual tours all come from one 3D model, and a design change is made on screen instead of building a new model.

Send your drawings, get a fixed price

Upload your drawings, CAD, PDF or a photo of a sketch. The first reply is a fixed price and a delivery date, not a sales call.

We take a limited number of projects each month.
