In this article
- 9 Dutch studios compared by city, founding year, services and recent work, plus 3Dstudio.co.
- 3 more studios are listed separately because we could not date their work.
- A table shows which studio offers animation, VR, floor plans or staging.
- A glossary explains Dutch terms such as artist impression and sfeerplattegrond.
Architectural 3D rendering companies in the Netherlands include De Renderfabriek and Artist Impression 3D in Amsterdam, Studio Renders in Rotterdam, i2 Visual Reality in Delft, 3DF Visualisaties in Leiden, VYB and Visualisatie Nederland in Groningen, Studio Janus in ‘s-Hertogenbosch and BouwImpression.nl in Friesland. We checked each studio’s own website on 1 October 2026 and list where it is based, when it started, what it offers and when it last showed new work.
Dutch architectural visualization studios usually call this work an “artist impression” or “3D visualisatie”, especially for new-build (nieuwbouw) projects. Both terms mean a 3D image of a building or interior that is not built yet. For our own approach, see our architectural visualization service.
About this list: it is written by 3Dstudio.co, and we include ourselves, marked as our studio. Every other entry uses facts from the studio’s own website or its Clutch profile, checked in October 2026. Featured on this list and something has changed? Contact us through 3dstudio.co and we will update the entry.
How we chose these studios
We searched in English and Dutch, including searches for artist impression and 3D visualisatie bureaus in Amsterdam, Rotterdam, Eindhoven and Utrecht. We left out studios based outside the Netherlands, studios that mainly make product images and studios whose headquarters we could not confirm. A studio was included when it met these points:
- Architectural visualization is its core business, or a clearly named service line.
- It shows a public portfolio, and its website shows dated work, or updated project or service pages, from 2024 or later.
- It is based in the Netherlands. Our own entry is the one exception, and it is marked as our studio.
- Its website states what services it offers and who it works for.
3 more studios met the other points, but we could not find dated work from 2024 or later on their websites. They are listed separately at the end of “The studios”. A field we could not find is marked “not listed”.

Dutch terms for 3D visualization
Dutch studio websites use a small set of terms. If you brief a Dutch studio from abroad, these are the words you will see on their service pages.

| Dutch term | English | What you get |
|---|---|---|
| artist impression | artist impression | A photoreal image of an unbuilt building, usually an exterior |
| 3D visualisatie | 3D visualization | The general term studios use for their service |
| interieurimpressie | interior impression | An image of a room that is not built or furnished yet |
| vogelvlucht | bird’s-eye view | The project and its surroundings seen from above |
| verkoopplattegrond | sales floor plan | A colored plan of one home type for the sales brochure, like our 3D floor plans |

How to choose a rendering company in the Netherlands
Check these points with every studio on this list, including us, before you send files. For the full checklist, read our guide to how to compare 3D rendering companies. To compare studios side by side, download our free checklist for choosing a 3D rendering studio: 8 questions to send each studio and a scorecard for comparing 3 of them.
- New-build sales before construction: a nieuwbouw project often starts selling before the building exists, from a brochure, a project website and listings on portals such as Funda. Decide which views you need for each use, such as an exterior hero view, a street view and 1 or 2 interiors. Fewer, well-chosen views are easier to keep consistent. See our page on 3D visualization for real estate developers and our guide to rendering for pre-construction marketing.
- Municipal approval: since 1 January 2024, building permits in the Netherlands fall under the Omgevingswet (Environment and Planning Act), which also puts weight on participation. If your images go to the municipality or to a meeting with neighbors, ask for views from real street positions, not only the most flattering angle.
- Working in English: several Dutch studio websites are written in Dutch. If your team or investors work in English, check that the studio will quote, send revisions and deliver files in English.
- File formats: send DWG, PDF plans and elevations, IFC or Revit files, plus material notes. Our guide to preparing files for 3D rendering lists what a studio needs.
- Usage rights: check that you can use the images on brochures, Funda and other listing portals, hoardings, press and planning submissions without a new fee.
- NDA: an unbuilt project is usually confidential, so ask whether the studio signs an NDA before you send files.
- Time zone: for a studio abroad, check the working hours. Tallinn is 1 hour ahead of Amsterdam, so calls and review rounds fit the same working day.
- Price model: ask whether the price is fixed before work starts. Our guide to what drives 3D rendering cost explains the factors.
If you are weighing a studio abroad against a local one, read our guide to outsourcing 3D rendering. To compare us with your shortlist, request a quote with your drawings, a PDF or even a photo of a sketch.
Questions about 3D rendering companies in the Netherlands
Which studios in the Netherlands make artist impressions?
3DF Visualisaties, BouwImpression.nl, i2 Visual Reality, Studio Janus, Studio Renders, Visualisatie Nederland and Artist Impression 3D all list artist impressions as a service. Architectuurproducties and CG-Presentations do too, but we could not find dated work from 2024 or later on their websites.
Which studios are based in Amsterdam and Rotterdam?
De Renderfabriek is based in Amsterdam, and Artist Impression 3D is in Amsterdam-Duivendrecht. Studio Renders is based in Rotterdam and lists offices in Den Haag and Amsterdam, and De Beeldenfabriek is also in Rotterdam. Other studios here are in Leiden, Delft, Groningen, ‘s-Hertogenbosch, Eindhoven, Leusden and Friesland.
How much does a 3D rendering cost in the Netherlands?
We do not list prices for other studios, so ask each one for a written quote for the same set of views. The price depends on the number of views, the size and complexity of the scene, how ready your files are and the resolution. 3Dstudio.co gives one fixed price per project before work starts. Read how our fixed project price works and our guide to what drives 3D rendering cost.
How long does an artist impression take?
Ask each studio for a delivery date in the quote. At 3Dstudio.co, a single view takes about a week and a medium set takes 2 to 3 weeks, and the quote states a fixed delivery date.
Do Dutch rendering studios work in English?
Several studio websites on this list are written in Dutch, so ask before you send files whether the quote, revision comments and delivery will be in English. 3Dstudio.co works in English. We did not check the language policy of the other studios.
Do Dutch studios use AI for artist impressions?
Studio Janus says it uses AI where it measurably contributes, as a working method. AI tools are good for exploring options and early concepts. Depending on the tool, details such as window frames, balconies or the roofline can change or come out simpler, and nothing in the output is checked against drawings. Ask any studio how its final image is checked against your drawings. At 3Dstudio.co, the model is built from your drawings and checked by a person.
Can a studio outside the Netherlands work from Dutch drawings?
Yes, if it accepts your file formats, such as DWG, PDF plans, IFC or Revit. The drawings give the building, and photos or a map give the surroundings, so nobody needs to visit the site. Ask how the studio handles drawings with Dutch labels, and check on an early grey model that it matches your dimensions. Our process starts with an untextured grey model for this reason.
Diagrams in this post are drawn with an AI image tool from our brief and checked by our team.
