The short version

What is villa rendering?

Photoreal 3D images of a villa that is not built yet, made from the architect's drawings, so an owner can approve the design, a buyer can commit before construction and a developer can start sales early.

A villa is bought for the life around it: the pool, the terrace, the light in the evening. The rendering has to show that, not only the walls.

Villa rendering is exterior and interior rendering for one house, but the brief is different from an apartment block. The garden, the pool and the view sell a villa as much as the architecture does, so they are modelled with the same care as the facade.

We build the villa once as a 3D model, on its real plot and slope, and every image comes from that model: the arrival view, the pool terrace, the living room looking out and an aerial of the whole plot. Change a material and every view changes with it.

Day or dusk

Daylight shows the materials and the garden. Dusk, with the interior lights on and the pool lit, shows how the villa feels in the evening. Many sets use one of each, and the second costs much less because the scene already exists.

Modern or traditional

Concrete and glass, Mediterranean stone or Nordic timber: the materials come from your specification, at full size, so a stone wall or a timber facade reads as it will on site.

A villa or a family house

In the Nordic countries a villa is simply a detached house. The same service covers both: a family house on a forest plot is built and lit with the same care as a holiday villa by the sea.

What a villa set includes

The views that sell a villa

Most villa sets are built from these four views. Order one or all of them; they come from the same model.

Arrival view

The villa as a visitor first sees it from the drive: the entrance, the facade materials, the gate and the garden at the front.

Pool and terrace

The view most buyers remember: the pool, the terrace furniture, people at the table and the landscape beyond.

Dusk with the lights on

The same villa in the evening, with the interior lit and the pool glowing, for the first page of a brochure or a listing.

On the slope, by the water

A villa on a steep or difficult plot, with the retaining walls, the terraces and the drop to the sea or the valley shown as built.

The craft

What makes a villa rendering convincing

A villa is sold on the life around it as much as on the walls. These are the parts we spend the most time on.

Pool water that reads as water

Reflections, the colour of the pool lining and the light on the bottom are rendered, not painted on. A flat blue rectangle is the fastest way to make a villa look like a computer model.

Planting that suits the place

Olive trees and lavender on a Mediterranean terrace, birch and pine on a Nordic plot. The garden is planted for the real climate, or from your landscape plan if there is one.

The real view from the plot

Sea, mountains, a fjord or a forest: what the villa looks out on is often the reason to buy it, so the view is built from photographs of the site, not from a stock background.

Materials at full size

Stone, render, timber and glass are modelled from your specification at their real scale, so the texture of a stone wall reads as it will on site.

Working with us

Working from your drawings, under NDA

One model for the whole set

Exterior, pool, interior and aerial views come from the same model, so the materials and the light match in every image.

What it costs

What decides the price of a villa rendering

One fixed price for the project, agreed before work starts, not a day rate. Here is what moves it.

  • How many views

One exterior view is the smallest job. Every further view comes from the same model, so it costs much less than the first.

  • Day, dusk or night

A dusk or night view with the interior lit takes more work than daylight, and it is usually the image that sells the villa.

  • The garden and the pool

A detailed garden, a pool and terrace furniture take longer than a plain lawn. A landscape plan makes it faster and more exact.

  • Interior views

Interior views need the furniture and finishes chosen. A finish schedule or a mood board from the designer saves a round of changes.

  • The state of your drawings

A DWG set with elevations or a 3D model is quickest. A PDF, a SketchUp or Revit model, or a photographed sketch all work.

  • Repeats from the same model

A second material option, another time of day or a later design change costs much less than the first image.

Questions we get asked

Villa rendering questions, answered

What owners, architects and developers usually ask before their first villa rendering. Still unsure? Send the drawings anyway; the quote reply says what is missing.

Ask us directly
What is villa rendering?
Photoreal 3D images of a villa that is not built yet, made from the architect's drawings. The villa, the pool, the terrace, the garden and the view are modelled together, so an owner can approve the design, a buyer can commit before construction and a developer can start sales early.
How many images does a villa need?
For a private owner approving a design, 1 or 2 exterior views are usually enough. For sales, a typical set is the arrival view, the pool and terrace, the main living space looking out, and one dusk view. Every image after the first comes from a model that already exists, so it costs much less.
Can you render the pool, terrace and garden as well as the villa?
Yes, and for a villa we recommend it. The garden, the pool and the terrace are modelled from your landscape plan, or we propose planting that suits the climate if there is no plan yet. They are part of the same model, so they appear in every view.
Can you show the real view from the villa?
Yes. Send photographs taken from the plot, or from as close to it as possible, and the sea, the mountains or the forest around the villa are built from them. Without photographs we use the address and maps to make the surroundings believable, and we tell you which parts are assumed.
What if the design is not final yet?
That is normal. The first thing you see is an untextured clay view, within the first 3 days, and it is the cheap moment to change the design, the camera or the time of day. A second material option for the same villa, for example render against timber cladding, comes from the same model and costs much less than the first image.
How long does a villa rendering take?
About a week for one view from the day we have the drawings, and 2 to 3 weeks for a full sales set. 2 revision rounds are included, and the date is agreed when you accept the quote.
Can ChatGPT or another AI tool render my villa?
AI tools can make a quick, attractive picture of a villa, which is useful for an early idea. They do not follow your drawings: the windows, the proportions and the materials change from one image to the next, and the plot is invented. A buyer or an owner approving a design needs the villa that will actually be built, so we model it from the drawings.
How much does a villa rendering cost?
One fixed price for the project, agreed before work starts and not a price per hour. What moves it is listed in the cost section above: the number of views, dusk or night settings, the garden and the pool, and interior views. Our price ranges are on the pricing page, and you get a fixed number for your villa within 30 minutes.
