Twinmotion Price in 2026: Free Tier, Seats and Real Costs
What Twinmotion costs in 2026: the free license and its revenue limit, the price of a seat, trial and refund terms, the hardware behind the price, and a cheaper route when you only need a few images.
In this article
- Twinmotion is free for students, educators, hobbyists and companies under a revenue limit; above it, a seat costs $445 per seat per year
- Epic offers a 30-day trial of seats and a full refund within 14 days of a direct purchase
- For many studios the real cost is the computer and the learning time, not the license
- For a few still images, an AI render tool in the browser needs no graphics card, and its Enhance mode accepts a Twinmotion render
Twinmotion is free for students, educators, hobbyists and companies with under $1 million in revenue over the past 12 months. Above that, or when you need Twinmotion Cloud, Epic Games sells seats at $445 per seat per year. On 5 November 2026 the Twinmotion license page also offered a 30-day trial of seats.
That makes Twinmotion the cheapest of the big real-time tools to license, and for many small studios it costs nothing. The price question is then about the computer and your time. This guide sets out who pays and who does not, what a seat includes, what hardware Epic lists, and when a few AI-made images are the cheaper route. We make that route, so we say plainly where Twinmotion is the better tool. Every Twinmotion figure below was read on the Twinmotion license page, the Twinmotion FAQ and the hardware and software specifications page on 5 November 2026. Prices can change, so check those pages before you buy.
Twinmotion price in 2026 at a glance
There are 2 licenses. Epic states the revenue limit in US currency, and the page shows the seat price in the same currency.
| License | Cost | Who it is for | What it includes |
|---|---|---|---|
| Free | Free | Individuals and small businesses with under $1 million in revenue in the past 12 months, educational institutions and students | All upgrades, documentation and learning materials, community forums |
| Twinmotion seat | $445 per seat per year | Individuals and businesses with over $1 million in gross annual revenue, or anyone who needs Twinmotion Cloud | Upgrades for 1 year, documentation and learning materials, community forums, Twinmotion Cloud |
Seats are bought and managed in the Epic Developer Portal. Epic asks you to contact it for custom terms, for more than 25 seats, or for Epic Pro Support, and it gives no price for those. Twinmotion Cloud is only available to companies that buy seats.
Is Twinmotion free?
Yes, for many users. The threshold is your annual gross company revenue, not the revenue of one product. If your company reported $1 million or more in the last 12 months or fiscal year, you need seats. Epic says to use a reasonable currency conversion when you check the limit, and that once you pass it you must buy a seat subscription to keep using Twinmotion under the license terms.
Have a 3D model? Our AI Render Studio turns a screenshot of it into a photoreal image in about 20 seconds. Your first render needs no account.
Render your model free
The free license includes all upgrades and learning materials. It does not include Twinmotion Cloud, which Epic reserves for seat holders. A studio under the revenue limit can still use Twinmotion for client work at no license cost, which is not true of every tool in this class.
Twinmotion seats, trial and refunds
If you are not eligible for the free license, Epic says you can request a 30-day trial from the Get Twinmotion page. The trial includes Twinmotion Cloud. A seat then costs $445 per seat per year, and it includes every update released during the year.
Three terms matter before you buy:
- Refund. If you cancel within 14 days of buying directly from Epic, you get a full refund. Purchases through resellers go through the reseller.
- Renewal. You can cancel the renewal before the end of the term. If you do not renew, you keep your projects, but the license terms require new seats if you want to keep using Twinmotion, unless your revenue is now under the limit.
- Currency and tax. Epic says it supports other currencies and has adjusted prices for some locations, and that you see the final price after you start the purchase and before you pay. The FAQ shows an asterisk after the $445 price that we could not read. Business buyers can add a company and VAT number to get a VAT receipt. The page does not say whether tax is included in the seat price.
What Twinmotion really costs
With a free license or a $445 seat behind you, the main cost is the computer. Twinmotion runs on Windows and on Mac. Epic lists two levels:
| Minimum | High-end | |
|---|---|---|
| Suited to | Projects under 1 GB of geometry; images up to 4K UHD; videos in Full HD | Large projects over 1 GB, such as big buildings and cities; VR; path tracer and Lumen |
| Graphics card (Windows) | 6 GB of video memory and a benchmark score of 10,000 or higher | 12 GB of video memory and a benchmark score of 20,000 or higher |
| Processor (Windows) | Benchmark score of 2,000 or higher | Benchmark score of 2,500 or higher |
| Memory (Windows) | 16 GB or more | 64 GB or more |
| Mac | Apple Silicon M1 or M2, 32 GB of memory | Apple Silicon M3 Max or better, 64 GB of memory |
| Free disk space | 30 GB | 30 GB |

Epic says the minimum level is not suited to VR, to 4K video, to 360 degree video, to the path tracer or to the Lumen lighting mode. It recommends at least 8 GB of video memory for the path tracer. On Mac, the path tracer and VR are not supported. Intel Arc graphics cards are not officially supported on Windows. We did not read hardware prices, so we give none. Add the price of a computer that meets your level to any seat cost.
The learning time. Epic says most people learn the majority of Twinmotion by exploring the interface, and it offers a free video learning path through the Epic Developer Community. It is still a separate program. You bring the model in, place assets, set the materials and light, and set up each view. Each new project repeats those steps, and the time shows up in your week, not on an invoice.
When Twinmotion is the right tool
Twinmotion is built for work that goes beyond a single image. It is the better choice when:
- You make animations or interactive output. It produces videos, standard and 360 degree VR video, panoramas and interactive presentations.
- The scene is large. Epic lists large buildings, cities and big landscapes at the high-end level, and the program is built on Unreal Engine 5.
- You need control of every object. You edit the 3D scene, and the model stays exact.
- Your pipeline uses Epic’s tools. Datasmith brings in models from other programs, and Twinmotion Cloud shares presentations.
- The license cost is nothing. A studio under the revenue limit pays no license fee, so the program is worth testing before you look elsewhere.

A cheaper route when you need a few images
If the license costs nothing for you, the reason to look elsewhere is not the license. It is the hardware, the learning time and the size of the job. For a few images for a client meeting or a competition board, setting up a real-time scene can take longer than the images are worth. Our AI Render Studio is built for that case. It runs in the browser, so you need no graphics card in your computer and nothing to install.
There are 2 ways to use it with Twinmotion:
- Improve a Twinmotion render. Enhance mode takes a render from Twinmotion, Enscape, Lumion, V-Ray or D5. We improve the light and materials and keep your building as it is.
- Start from a screenshot. Upload a screenshot or PNG of a 3D model from any program and get a photoreal render in about 20 seconds. The tool aims to keep the building’s shape, windows, roof line, floor count and camera.
Your first render needs no account, and you get 1 every 24 hours. A free account gives 5 free renders and 5 free fixes, with a small logo and for personal use. After a render you can fix one area, relight the image, or make a 5-second video on paid plans. Client review links come with Pro and up.
AI can still move a window or change a roof line. If the lines drift, the re-run is on us, and failed renders are refunded in credits automatically. Credits never expire. Prices include VAT or sales tax, and there is a 14-day refund if no credits were used. Our plans are on the AI Render Studio pricing page. We do not copy them here, because they are shown in each visitor’s currency.
Twinmotion vs AI Render Studio side by side
The Twinmotion column uses what Epic states on its own pages on 5 November 2026. The other column is what our app states about itself.
| Twinmotion | AI Render Studio | |
|---|---|---|
| How you pay | Free under $1 million in revenue; seats at $445 per seat per year above that | Credits that never expire; see our pricing page |
| Computer | Windows or Mac, with 6 GB of video memory at the minimum level | Any computer with a browser, no graphics card needed |
| Free start | Free license if eligible; 30-day trial of seats | 1 render with no account, then 5 renders and 5 fixes (small logo, personal use) |
| Animations and VR | Videos, 360 degree video, VR and interactive presentations | 5-second video from a render on paid plans |
| Large scenes | Yes, at the high-end hardware level | Works from one view of your model |
| Control of each object | Full control inside the 3D scene | Fix one area or relight; the 3D model itself is not editable |
| Keeping your design | It renders your model exactly | Aims to keep your shape and windows; a free re-run if lines drift |
| Improving a Twinmotion render | Not applicable | Enhance mode accepts a render from Twinmotion |
| Refund | Full refund within 14 days of a direct seat purchase | 14 days if no credits were used; failed renders refunded in credits |
How to choose between them
- Choose Twinmotion if you need animations, VR, large scenes or control over every object, and you have a computer that meets the level you need. Under the revenue limit, the license costs nothing.
- Choose the AI Render Studio if you need a few still images, you have no graphics workstation, or you want to improve a render you already have.
- Use both. Render a view in Twinmotion, then run it through Enhance and compare the two. Count the windows and floors in each result before you send one to a client.

Prices for two other big tools are in the Enscape price and V-Ray price guides. Other options are in the free rendering software list and the best AI rendering software list. When to use a studio instead
Twinmotion and an AI tool both make images for options and early concepts. Neither one checks the image against your drawings for you. For planning, a competition jury or a sales launch, every detail must match, and a person should check it. For those images, we build the 3D model from your drawings and check it against them. We are an architectural visualization studio with 1,200+ projects since 2013. See architectural visualization for how that works, or read what a studio image costs in our 3D rendering cost guide.
